Speedo drive gear

I went through this recently. I know Pantera Performance Center has them. I was told that Roy Butfoy had them, but follow through was lacking on his part. New, the units are pricey. PPC sold me a satisfactory, ahem, "pre-owned" unit for a more reasonable price. Good luck.

I was able to get a brand new Speedo drive gear and a used angle gear from Precision Pro Performance. Pulling the old drive gear out of the ZF was a piece of cake. All I did was use a small disc shaped rare earth magnet and stick it to the top of the broken gear and it was holding very solidly. I used the same magnet on the new gear and just attached it to the side of the blade piece. Heh I think the hardest part was pulling the magnet off of the gear once I had everything locked in place. Total cost for the 2 pieces was a little under $400

Shameless plug: in the last 3 years I've successfully repaired about a dozen ZF angle drives for various owners, at much more reasonable cost, and in the process I add a zerk fitting so the gears can be lubricated in the future. The only other way to service the angle drive is to spray a little WD-40 in the ends once a year.
