We started taking a part my ZF today.
Here are a few pictures of it as we go.

The picture of the gear sitting on the bench is a corvette Gear and Syncro. Learned about the difference of ours vs. theirs today. The Corvette is dual coned and much better than our ZF single cones. Better dog tooth & release system and much more brutal. Pity we can't use them.

This is going to be a great learning experience for me as we go through this. I'll post more once I have a chance to go over my notes and digest today's learning curve.

So far, no. But I know there will be some for pulling the bearings and other things. We'll make eveything we need that Bill doesn't have already. One was already called for and isn't needed. The manual calls for a puller to remove the speedo cable drive assembly. Isn't needed. We removed the holding bolt and it pulls right out.
So far so good. Today we'll probably take the rest of it apart.
