This item appears on later L models, I'm not sure exactly when it was added.

If your car won't start, this button will reset the ingnition interlock.
I'm not sure what causes the lock-out, but seatbelts, or ??? SOBill (Sweet Ol' Bill), the wiring expert, might tell us what wiring is involved.

The Italians like this sort of stuff. The Pantera ignition switch is built such that, if you twist the key and the engine doesn't start, and you release the key, you must turn the key all the way off before turing the ignition on again. The engine will crank but no ignition power. The yellow box button allows one to pull the hood release, get out & push the button, rather than simply turning off the key, then turning it back on. Ducati motorcycles allow you 15 seconds to start the engine before a circuit kills power to the starter and you gotta start over. Italians...
