Hello guys, here is somthing interresting if You are going to revise Your steering rack.I did mine after a long search on the net. i had a price from a guy in Italy that was 390 euro + vat and shipping complete and 600 + shipping from a guy in Germany. Turns out the rack was also used on Ferraris of the era, and here it comes, it was Original from a Mini! only problem the gaering is diffrent. There is also a inner revision kit from Rimmer bros Uk for I think 47 pounds .

OEM racks haven't been available for some time and the original maker- Cam Gears Ltd of England went out of business a long time ago. But Larry Stock found a shop in Germany that's now making exact replicas of the NOS racks for him exclusively. Both PPC-Carson City and Wilkinson (who split the first production run of 100 with Larry) sell these brand-new steering racks quite reasonably, exchange. OEM reconditioned racks also available from both shops for those who cannot rebuild their own. This is not just a bushing swap!
High T, when I went to buy the rack I took mine along to measure and I think it was something like 10 cm or more shorter meaning the housing of the rack. You could mayby lengthen the tube in between. I reused mine because it was only a little bend. There is someone in Italy selling them fore 390 euro plus vat and shipping, the adress is autoricambi d'epoca website www.autoepoca.it. Hope this helps, greetings Urbain
