I have a Kenwood system. I did it while I was finally redoing the entire interior, so everything was stripped out. I modified the console and relocated and replaced all the switches and controls at the same time.

It's awesome. The sound system is better than my living room and loud enough that I can easily hear it. It has a DVD player, NAV, (perfect GPS and acurate speed readings - great to fight tickets) XM, iPod, Bluetooth, Rear View Camera and stuff I still haven't figured out yet

I had spent a year planning everything out perfectly. And every single thing still needed to be redone as we went along. But I wouldn't do anything different and am very happy with the results.

Hi deeb,

Wonderful setup -- very well done. The other question that comes to mind is, where did you hide the antennae for both the GPS and the XM radio? I am trying to figure out where to put these without sticking that crappy antennae that comes with the units on the outside of the car. I was thinking maybe under the dash, high as possible nearest the windshield, but still under the dash (with no metal to screw up the signal), or maybe hidden in the exterior rear view mirrors on either side of the car? The only other thing I could think of was to maybe use a carbon fiber small bumperette in the front and hide them in there? How did you solve this problem?

Do you have any photo of the rear camera? Did you mount it a special way, or did you get a special license frame with the camera in it?

Thanks again, Mark
I made a bracket to hold them above the wiper assembly, just under the grille on the drivers side.I had to move the XM outside for better reception but it is almost invisible.

The rear view camera is located beside the license plate. Not the best location. I can see what's behind me but unlike most such systems have no view of the bumper or exhast tips for reference. Still working on this.

In the photo of the intake for the heater/ A/C matrix, is the antenna marked "GARMIN" the GPS and the XM that you can see through the grille the way it is on your car? Or have you had to change it since the photo was taken. I can see that the "XM" antenna appears to be under the grille -- just wondering if it does work this way, or if you had to change it to make it work better?

Thanks,

Mark
