Stock Seat Belts

I've heard, but not seen for myself, that some '71's have the recoil mechanism in the rocker sill. Other than that, I believe that all other Panteras have the recoil mechanism attached to the firewall. That's the way it is on my '74 and my '86.

Thanks boys. The '72 seatbelts for sale look like the retractors are in the firewall. I'll confirm with the seller.

Nils. My 74' has the stock 3pt setup. One retractor is to your left in the rocker, mid-point is on rolled section up high left firewall cover, and last piece is also a retractor sunk into the firewall down low.

I replaced my stockers with a replacement set from Hall that changes things slightly. The retractor fits without modification into the cutout on the inner rocker panel right by your hip. The top bolt over your shoulder is the second anchor point. There is nothing on the bottom of the firewall anymore so when I had my interior done I had that area covered over.

Works pretty well, except the retractor hangs up sometimes until you get used to pulling it out in a continuous motion.

Any one of know what interchangable part would fit for the female recepticle for a 74? My seat belts are working great--just can't attach the "male" end to the "female"--female end refuses to cooperate ---story of my life--uncooperative females

I bought replacement parts from one vendor, but they were hella expensive. I eventually went with racing harnesses. If I can find the parts, I'll post an add.

Nils, Consider ... is there such thing as casual driving in a Pantera, the overall size of the Pantera, the Pantera's thin sheet metal, the close windshield, the size of dreaded SUV's, your 3 kids.
Are you sure you don't need the 4 point for "casual driving"?

OK. I'm GUILTED into kepping the 4-pointers for "casual use". Heck...I'm going to add a submarine belt I feel so BAAAAD! Send me an email on that electrical issue.

Nils. I just added a "swap out" drivers seat using a Corbeau Forza (in yellow of course), with their 4pt snap-in set. Very comfortable with the thinner 2" straps and holds you right in there.........now........ they also offer (if you dont wanna swap belts, but when i pull the forza i snap-out the 4pt also) a retractable 3pt you can adjust. Loose for daily driving and locked for auto events.
