Jack, you are probably right about the mallory - RPM said the same - it should not be nessesary to add mallory metal to their 4.170 stroke internal cranks.

I've ordered a new flywheel. The old one was aluminum with the counterweight bolted on - permanently locktited !! Tried to remove it with heat - didn't work.

Drill the screws out- you don't care about the threads since you're going with neutral balance. This will get you on the road sooner. Later you can sell the old flywheel and balance weight and the new owner can drill & tap new threads if he wishes.
Thank you all for helping out with input on the motor.
Took it out for it's maiden trip today - a causious 10 miles or so. First time on the road for this car in more than 25 years.

Remember, this is my first pantera - more than 3 years of nut-and-bolt restoration - what a phenomenal feeling.

Everything seems to work as it should and the motor is just - BRUTAL Big Grin.
