You want Low Profile!? You got Low Profile!! First I'll answer the asked questions then I will end with the Disadvantages and Advantages. 1. Sylvania 'Xenarc' REAL H.I.D.! They have them at 'Summit Racing' but I purchased them 'On-Line' from the 'Auto Barn' (for the same price) Only because they offered FREE shipping. 2. Complete Kit; 2 High Voltage Ballasts(aluminum and Stainless Steel), 2 Lights (very high quality in cast aluminum with Optical Quality Tembered Glass) Full wire harness to Radio controlled receiver (Yes! I said Radio Controlled!) Just hook-up 1 ground wire and 1 positive wire directly to the Battery. Cost $400. 3. Was Not difficult for me as I have decades of metal working experience. Was able to cut the needed openings WITHOUT having to remove the 'Light Buckets'; using a 'Saber Saw' with a 'Fine' Blade. You will have to muster a truckload of 'Guts' to cut your car up. There is NO 'Going Back', although I CAN put the 'Round Eyes' Back IN; some of the cutting would be visible. 4. Yes! Required painting! I used and recommend 'Satin Black'. I used a spray can. 5. I am Very Satisfied with the results and would do it again without hesitation! 6. Be very carefull that your saw blade does not hit the 'Roof' of the Bucket, it comes very close!! Pad, Cover everything around your work to protect it! Nothing beats 'High Intensity Discharge'!! Dissadvantages: This is a Low beam 'auxillary' light Meant to be used in conjunction with the 'Normal' low beam light system.(I did NOT find that neccessary! There is NO High Beam (I plan to mount high beams behind the grill, sometime in the near future). The Radio Control (Hand-Held or Dash Mounted) Switch, is in danger of being Lost, forgotten and left home; (although they give you 2 switches) or worst, accidentally being Bumped/hit-Turned OFF at the worst possible time; such as flying down a mountain road over 100 MPH at Night. That is why We need High Beams for Back-Up, controlled at the original Stalk. OR, The radio control can be eliminated by cutting the RED power wire and wireing the harness directly into the Panteras' original 'Headlights ON', 12 Volt supply. Last: I Do have a main Battery cut off that I use as theft protection when I leave the Pantera! With-out it, there is the danger of closing the buckets down and 'Forgetting' to turn the lights OFF, since they do get pretty HOT this May Cook the Paint on the Bucket and Fender; WITH the remote system being used. BUT in my testing in the normal use position, I found that the entire bucket NEVER got bearly warmed! Advantages: NO holes to drill through the bulkhead to run wires to a switch at the dash. The whole system is mounted with-in the front trunk. The light Is Magnificent! Pure White as the Sun or another Star. They Make a wonderful high frequency 'whine' for ONLY 20 seconds when first 'fired-Up', as the lights warm up from a Gorgeous Blue to a Pure White rated 5500K (if I remember correct). There is absolutely NO radio interferrence of Any kind at 450 HZand 25,000 Volts, Yes, you read correct. Both ballassts 'pull' Only 3.5 AMPERES, that is EACH 7.0 Amps Total. The Lowest Possible Profile of ALL the available light systems out there, at a measurement of 6.0" wide by 2.25" High! ( RON! You were Close! The Absolute Minimum Height of the 'Bucket Lip' is 3.00", any lower than that and your lighting is just pointed TOO LOW. I could go on and on, But lets get to the Pictures. Any questions?
