Synchronizer discription

For me to grasp the discussions in Rocky’s post related to repairing a synchronizer (http://pantera.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3350045562/m/6401013256/p/31), I did a cut, paste and color to provide me with a description of how the synchronizer works. While this might be common knowledge to most, I thought I would share what I made up.
There are a lot of details I still don’t see, but I doubt I’ll get a chance since I am not brave enough to take mine apart, I just let Ron do it.
