Can someone help me out by telling me what the two connections are on my Veglia tach that have the blue and the blue/black wires?
My tach quit working so I'm trying to determine if the problem is the gauge, tach adapter, or in between. Turn signals, hi-beam work fine, just no rpm's registering.

Thanks for any help with the connection identification!

Gene,

The blue/black wire is the negative side of the tach and comes from the coil (looks like the negative side).

The light blue wire is the positive side of the tach and comes from the #12 fuse (the bottom one).

I have an MSD 6A which requires the MSD 8920 tach adapter. I'm about to get a third 8920 because they just don't seem to live very long.

Using a meter, I checked the voltage coming from purple wire at the MSD 8920 Tach adapter that goes to the gauge and its showing .69 volts with engine running Is that normal?

I opened up the Tach adapter to see if anything loose but alas its made of pure strawberry jello.
