I just got my car back from the shop after having extensive work done. It ran hot before I took it in, and when I drove it today it slowly worked its way up to 230 degrees. Driving at 50mph for several minutes didn't help.
When I shut the car off it didn't really hiss, tick, pop or gurgle.
So, does it seem like it is really getting that hot?
It has a new water pump, thermostat, hoses and all the water pipes were replaced. The fans appear to be working, but I don't know how much air they are moving. The air was burped from the system by jacking up the car in the back (and the front, I think).
Since it doesn't cool much when I drive that points to the radiator, doesn't it? Plus, it is the only thing I didn't replace.
I searched the archives and found a million different fixes to problems that I don't quite have. Any input would be appreciated.
