I have just replaced my radiator with a fluidyne lay down with sucker fans, engine is new (around 400hp), weiand water pump, new stainless pipes, new hoses, etc. I have bled the air out using a lisle funnel and raing rear of car, several times. Each time I got air out of the radiator(front up or rear up didn't matter). The gauge would go from 190 to 250 then back. I just drove the car again, no air found in system, still the gauge goes from 190 to 230 then once 250 and back to 200. When car shut off no "gurgling" sounds, or over heating signs. Both fans work great, water flows through the radiator(wasn't before when air in system). I do have a new sender. Any ideas? Thanks Confused

Hotstuff.........You may wanna check the levels again once cool. I just did a hose replacment last week, and as I recall it took quite a while to get the system full again, because there isnt a way to really fill the thing (well stock as mine, from what I can see), until the t-stat is open a few times to pull in water from the tank. (but it was those "wild" jumps in temp like mine........and I've got a good mechanical temp unit, so its accurate).

Point here is that rush up-and-down in temp looks like t-stat is doing its open/close deal
I just checked for air by raising front end and opening bleed value with engine on ------ air. No fluid came out for about a minute, then for only a short time. Tomorrow I plan on raising the back end , putting the lisle funnel in(again), turning the engine on at idle and opening the valve in the radiator to let the air out. I will have to take more time this time. Hopefully this will work. Thanks for the input. Smiler
