Prices have been going up a little from the day Ford abandoned the project in mid-'74. Now, a decent daily-driver will run around $25K, a better one with very few problems & some upgrades will be around $30K & for a perfect one- bring more money! As this is about the priceof a new 120-horse Miata, be sure to show up at a Pantera event & ask for a ride or a drive; torque is addictive! Check the web sites of the Pantera vendors- they usually have a selection of cars available. You also need to decide what year of Pantera- the early chrome-bumper, the later rubber-bumper & revised interior cars or the very late wide-body Panteras. You didn't say where you live, but there are recognized Pantera mechanics & dedicated shops across the U.S, mostly on the two coasts. Much trouble results from taking the car or engine to a local shop that learns about Cleveland Fords & Panteras by screwing up-on your nickel. You'd also do well to join a local Pantera club- believe me, they are NOT your typical car-club! You'll find most owners will drive hours to help YOU get your troubles sorted or even go with you to check one out. For your particular situation, check the PI Motors listing of cars for sale.
