I've been kinda in a lost world for the last month or so. I have to admit that I have been spending a lot of time on another forum lately(hey I'm a gear head and '65 Daytona Coupes really work for me!!).

But yesterday driving home on the 5 freeway my eye catches the rear profile of an older Lambo about a half mile up on the right. Wait thats not a Lmabo.....its a Pantera!! A white P car, on a busy freeway at 4 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. NICE! Unfortunately I only get to watch him for a few minutes as he exited the freeway at the 126 (was he going to your house George?). For a couple minutes I'm reminded of how sweet the P car is. I have to put it out of my head becuase I still have a 1 plus hour drive home and I still have work to think about.

Fast forward to 8pm last night and I'm rewarding myself with some time on the PC and I decide to see what all of you have been up to. I see the "Why DeTomaso" post by DeLoreans and Detomasos. Got me thinking. Then I see Mark's "fly" (could not think of a better word!) yellow P car. "THAT'S IT! I'M BACK!" A White in person encounter and a yellow one all in one day. My two favs; White and Yellow (NOT together mind you). I can here you squirming in your chair George!

So I said all that to say this "Thanks for keeping the faith and helping a brother (one day to be "official") see the light again!"

Especially to you forum fanatics who keep posting day after day:

Hey, thanks for the thanks. No one says 'thanks' these days, or not enough anyway. So, you can ramble all you want when you're in the thanks mode!

I understand your 'day dreaming' about the cars. Heck, I do it at night, and even when I'm IN the silly thing. Hard to shake once you get it. Do your brain and garage a favor and get one.

And since you didn't ask, here's a green car...

I have yet to see a bad color on any Pantera....Love the period correct wheels and tires on yours. You got the stance right too. all too often there is too much gap.

My brain, garage, and wallet are tied up in a '68 Mustang coupe (Grabber Blue: couldn't talk my son into my preferences) but I hear what you're saying. We're very much on the backside of that project though.

You're the first to publically comment on the screen name. Thought it was pretty clever myself.

No, the first one is a different car. The others are all the same. The first one has only 24,000 miles or so and is quite nice. I've nick-named it Pegasus because it's a mythical beast that's never seen outside of it's garage. I found the car for the buyer and I tease him that I wouldn't have told him about it if I'd have known I'd never see it again after that day!

Anyway, don't get too attached to one color. Yellow was NOT on my list of desirable colors. But now it's my favorite color. Funny how that works.

Personally, I love the Pantera in any color. I never set out to have a white car (I'd probably have chosen orange or yellow), but I love the car regardless. One big benefit to white is that it goes with anything and with beautiful scenery around, that's a nice thing. Smiler

I thought white is the reflection of all color wavelengths off the surface being viewed and black is the absortion of all color wavelengths. So white is the absence of color on a surface and black of presence of all colors on a surface. (white is colorless and black is colorful).

You're right, the eye is detecting all of the colors being reflected into it, so it perceives white. If the object absorbs all of the colors and none are being reflected back into the eye, it perceives black. But the eye doesn't actually see the object itself, it sees the light it reflects. That's why you can bring an object right up to your eye and you can't see it if there's no light, like at night in bed.

Wasn't 'BIG PESO' previously white? Does it still have the fuel injected 5.0 liter motor in it? Do you, or anyone else have pictures of the engine/engine bay in this Pantera? Thanks.

The color looks cool to me, but I think the headlights look a little funky. I'm trying to keep an open mind, and I think they have the potential to grow on me, although I wouldn't do it to my Pantera. The execution does look top notch regardless.
