I was trying to clean my 40 Y/O ones... Not having much luck...

When I came upon a solution...

Go to a Body and Paint facility, and ask for the 3M PPS Paint Caps that they get with each can of paint they use...

Viola!

They slip right into the hole (snugly) and from the top look just the same.

They will keep the "ooze" from off of your "Dzus"!

Installed pix to follow.

Excellent find on the substitutes. It seems hired restorers generally don't bother to replace them as many Panteras I observe no longer have them in place. Hopefully, they'll find their way into SOBill's database.

Doug, the go under the DZUS receptacles that hold the fibergalss trunk insert in place to keep the water spraying off the wheels from entering the luggage compartment.
No - I'm not trying to sell 'em. I just found a replacement for 'em.

Although maybe if Glenn posted the part number, it would help us all in the search for 'veracity'.

If you don't think you need 'em, then don't post up on this thread.

Doug -

You are right to question the legitamecy of these inserts.

We must protect the purity of the DeTomaso Pantera marque!

If we let people insert the plastic caps from PPG Paint Cups, then what's next?

- Radiator Modifications?

- "Amazing" Underdrive Water Pump Pulleys?

- Aftermarket rims and tires?

- Weber Carburetor Installs? (Ok, some of those came stock)

- LS3/LS9 Installs?

We do not want any deviations from the original design to creep into our beloved DeTomaso Panteras! It's a slippery slope! We must be ever-vigalent!

We must protect the sanctity of our precious bodily fluids!

Perhaps.

The photo from JB is from the online Wilkinson website catalog.

Bear in mind, Panteras by Wilkinson's website has not been updated since it was launched. At this point, don't expect Steve to do an update. Everyone calls him anyways so there is little reason to update.

So, prices may or may not be correct and current.

Items may or may not not be currently available, despite them being visible online.

Just saying.........

+1 on that. There are lots of little things he shows that he does not have. Better than 50/50 he ain't got those?

Actually I looked there and found no listing for them.

I sure hope no one will start ringing that freakin' cow bell again. I hate cowbells?
