Looking at the prices, some of the F-cars prices seem ridiculous. But if people pay it, then fine. Compared to them and Maserati Boras and other, I think our Panteras are "half the price, half the problems" Big Grin

The Countach reminds me of when I had my first musclecar, a 68 Camaro. In my little town in this car-starved country, was a swimmingpool company owned by two brothers, really fast movers, wheelers and dealers, there was nothing they couldn't deliver. To enjoy their success and profile the company they bought a white Countach. Talk of the town as you can imagine.
I decided that I would make my Camaro faster. I knew it could be, but I was still studying, so new parts could only be bought when I had saved up for it, and I couldn't afford anything breaking. I moved it from approx 300HP to almost 500HP in two years including probably the first nitrous system in Denmark. 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. I was ready, that summer I would challenge those guys. But then I learned that their company went bust, and they and the car were not seen in my town again.

Jeff, sounds like your still upset that you did not buy the red Mangusta that I offered to you, at a much lower price than listed.

Far as driveability factor and - to me - lifetime cool factor, the Daytona was probably a good move.

Since the Motorcar Gallery description is a little lacking, would you consider one of the Mangustas a better driver (better sorted, more roadworthy) than the other?
The red one is the best car, with rebuilt engine, suspension, and repaint of the engine compartment. It is a screamer!

The black one is all original with some of the original stickers on the windows. It had less that 12K on it, and was just like it was when it came from the factory, including no radio.

And thanks, the Daytona was always on my "Bucket List" and was able to trade two cars that were my favorites for one of my all time favorites. Life is good!

Hey thanks Jack. Just wandered back to the site, red car is unreal. Nice detailing under the hood.

Noticed a post of yours on the F-chat site regarding the trade as well. Interesting to find 'Goose fans there too, though the occasional snide remark, mostly in good fun.

OT: I have a car due for a belt service at FoA before long, if your Daytona ever ventures in that direction, would love to see it, meet you.
