When is the best time to tighten the the external nuts and bolts the on the ZF trans, when the trans is hot or cold ? Thanks #7260

Cold. You could easily strip them if their hot.
Besides, when you tighten them when their cold, everything expands when it gets hot which would actually make them tighter. If you tighten them when it's hot, everything would contract when it cools off making them looser....
