Thanks for the positive stroke. 10K is possible. But remember what my old Engineering professor once said, "You don't need to know all the answers; all you need to know is where the answers are kept!"
And a pat on the back to your programmers! This web page now loads so fast, I can't swallow a mouthful of coffee before its done!
Jack DeRyke,

I don't know if you understand it correctly. You ARE one of the ultimate Pantera Fanatics, right up there with Gary Hall, Steve Wilkinson, Dave Adler and the guys who were at the very 1st Pantera Guys meetings in San Pedro, CA, a long, long time ago, when I had a copy of the Camel Filters $10,000 Contest advertisement from PLAYBOY magazine taped on my bedroom wall @ at age 16 in 1973.

You've written a lot (no 100's is a H*** of a lot) of articles in POCA News Letters "Jack's Stands" and Pantera International as well, telling us how to get things done and giving us ideas and inspiration. Tireless, or a passion? BOTH!

You got your Engineering studies behind you, so that tells me that you labored over the same incomprehensible subjects as I did, including THERMODYNAMICS and DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS. Congratulations, those course failed out a lot of "wanna-be's" sorry to say for them. You worked hard and SUCCEEDED! You are an ICON in the Pantera World and I wish I could fill your shoes! I hope you inspire the younger generation to the same levels of success! THAT WILL BE A LEGACY! You deserve to feel PROUD, Mr. DeRyke! But don't quit now, I just got my Pantera, so if I ask a question that's been answered, please just point me in the direction where I can look it up. OK?

I'll hope to meet you some day and say thanks in person for the inspiration you've provided for so many of us, INCLUDING ME!

Thank you, Sir,

s/ Ron Norman
My hat is also off to the great people who make this forum possible, and a special tip of the hat to Jack and others like him who give tirelessly, generously and so knowledgably to this forum.
I have no doubt this forum is responsible for getting more than a few Panteras out on the road being driven, instead of sitting in storage because the owner cant find the info/parts/support to fix it.
This forum is whats its about, getting these great cars out on the roadways and putting big smiles on the faces of their lucky owners!

milehighpan,

the Pantera Guys you meet on this Forum and in the POCA will actually travel to meet you and help you with your project. A guy named Coz just came out from Phoenix, AZ to meet me in Albuquerque, NM and spent a few days helping me wrench the final phases of a 5 week project back together. He installed a new polished Edelbrock manifold for me (replacing the old 'polished' [tarnished] Edelbrock manifold); he found the source of a fuel leak in my Holley 600 CFM carb (tightened the float bowl screws 1/2 turn); found a vacuum leak on the Holley at the choke tube, which was open to atmosphere; helped me install the Jet-Hot coated headers and Ansa mufflers (with tedious attention to make sure the 4 tips were horizontal and in a straight line); and he gave me a Pantera Tutorial from A to Z, which I will be implementing over the rest of my and my Pantera's lifetime.

I also met a Pantera Guy in NM at a car show who is even more of a Pantera Fanatic than I am, who writes for Pantera International and POCA (Pantera Owners Club of America). A do it yourselfer like Coz and me, who can never know enough about Panteras (like Jack De Ryke, and too many others to give credit to).
So, Jack De Ryke and his Pantera Buddies have started a movement which has resulted in a lot of Pantera Fanatics and Affectionados getting together, in various ways, like this Forum, in local clubs, in each other's driveways for 'Tech Sessions' and in members' guest articles in Pantera International and POCA publications.

What a great group of Pantera Guys. And they al have a great Pantera Attitude that means trying to help each other and demonstrate their knowledge of Pantera.

What a great bond for friendship - common passions and pursuits. The spread of Pantera Knowledge will keep the Pantera Fever alive and flourishing forever.

Thanks Jack De Ryke for the tech advice and articles; Coz for coming over and helping me; Chuck Melton and Michael Dailey and quite a few others (SOBill, Shane Ingate, etc.) for the websites that provide a source of information, ideas, inspiration, and on and on...

milehighpan, you're gonna make some great friends, so enjoy it all!!! - Ron
