The local auto parts stores have no cross references for Pantera trunk lid lifts (gas struts). I need ones for the stock lid, without a rear fin. Does anyone know of a substitute part that will work? Thanks Ray Cooper

Ray: I bought mine from Wilkinson (www.panterasbywilkinson.com). Paid $85 for the pair. They fit perfectly, work fine and take about 15 minutes to install. Other vendors have them as well (www.panteraeast.com).
I bought mine from a Pantera vendor as well. If you are going to try to find a generic replacement, be aware that if you get it wrong you can bend your rear decklid (which is why I bought from a vendor). There are stories about people putting on a too-strong set of shocks which continually applied pressure to the decklid and eventually bent it. Food for thought.
