Twas the night before Christmas and out in the garage,
Not a trace of a Honda, not even a Dodge.
The presents were wrapped and the lights were all lit,
So I figured I’d mess with my Holley a bit.

With a lift of the hatch, revealing the monstrous 180`s in the beautifully detailed bay...
A soft voice behind me said “looks great , what a display!”
Startled and shocked, I turned mighty quick,
Leaning against the floor jack....it was Good Ol’ Saint Nick!

I stood there a bit, not sure what to say,
As he asked in a hurry... if I'd trade for for a sleigh?

“No way, Santa” I said with a grin,
“But if you’ve got the time .....we can go for a spin!”

His little round mouth, all tied like a bow’
Turned to a smile as he said .... "Let’s go!!”
So not to disturb all the neighbors asleep,
We quietly pushed the car to the street.

Taking our places to coast down the drive,
I turned on the key and let the clutch Fly!
The sound that erupted surely took him by surprise,
Though I could tell he liked it, by the look in his Eyes!

With tires a ’screaming and eyes all aglow,
We headed on out to where the hot cars all go.
On first.... On second, through third then fourth and fifth we went,
The Cleveland symphony sung and the earth rumbled a sweet torment.

The gears were shifted up the straight away, then down to go thru the hairpins and the curves at such a fast rate.
No other sound but the purr of the exhaust and the click of the shifter`s gate.

Santa’s grin widened....almost approaching his ears
as he sat there laughing almost.... in Tears!
With a glance toward my eye, he said with a Smile ...
“I CAN’T RECALL WHEN I’VE FELT SO ALIVE ! ”

So I backed off the pedal and pulled to the side,
"Here ya go Big Guy......Take er for a drive."
Ol' Santa was stunned when I gave him the keys,
As he walked past the headlights...... he even shook at the knees!

He popped the clutch and the tires shook the ground
The old Pantera exploded with Sound!
Power shifting to second, again into third.....
I sat there just watching...... not saying a word

Faster and Faster we blasted from sight,

When finally he Roared......

Well done Denis, a new Christmas classic, but any shots of the jolly old elf in the driver's seat?

Pictures

Glad to hear you're still getting the car out in these balmy days we're having here in the great white north Canada

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Best Wishes for 2016 to everyone!
