U joint color

U-joints are not painted- nor is it necessary, as grease leakage from the ends tends to spread from rotation, which protect them from surface rust.

Also note- u-joints are usually NOT GREASED as- received. They get a light coat of preservative on their insides from the mfgr, but the purchaser is expected to grease them before installation. That includes both those with built-in zerks and those without.

Reading between the lines, I think PB was asking about half-shafts...

I would match/compliment the rest of the suspension component's colors.......

I have a 72 that came stock with the half shafts finished in hammertone green.

I'll second the hammertone green.

I have a stock spare in that color.
