Greetings,

If you are of the type to purchase new UNIBAL joints from the factory or via dealers, beware of this..... I just unpacked two new ones that I bought in Italy a few years back, to replace two funky ones in my rear suspension.... only to find out that they were FINE thread instead of coarse!!!

Marking on the UNIBAL is something like SMG-16 and my new ones were marked SMG-1620 or 20 threads per inch or some metric equiv.... the extra "20" is the clincher....

You should be able to get these UNIBAL joints from any HEIM dealer such as Motion Industries. They are not any cheaper than directly from the factory.... they are Swiss made and most likely a special order item. Just make sure you are getting the right thread pitch etc.

You can also get new rubber boots too, aprox $10 each! (Yah! Ouch!!! Cuz you KNOW ALL of yours need replacing by now.....)

Steve
