I decided this morning to list it with a bunch of other stuff on eBay. It's actually my second round of items but this is some of the more valuable parts. I'm pretty proud of it. Cleaning off some shelf space and selling off my stock take offs I've had for years. My car will never go back toward stock, at least as long as I own it. Have a look at my other auctions while you're at it.

Kelly--while European Panteras (70s Euro GTS, and 80s GTS, GT5 and GT5-S) were equipped with the Momo Prototipo (which is very common, used on other cars and can be bought new today from lots of places, even Jegs), your car was one of just 150 made with a unique steering wheel, by Ferraro. Essentially a copy of the Prototipo, it differed in minor details. I had one pass through my hands last year and took extensive photos and wrote an article about it, which will appear in an upcoming POCA Profiles.

I actually had two pass through my hands within a space of just a few weeks, both purchased off of E-bay. I thought the selling prices were criminally low--$150-175 as I recall. You got $406 for yours, and even that seems like a hell of a deal to me. There's a US-spec GTS for sale in Livermore, CA right now #7016, which is missing the entire steering column and wheel. The owner of that car would definitely have benefited from purchasing yours! I wonder if that's where it went?

That's interesting Mike. You are a very knowledgable and well informed. I must confess, it was just the stock steering wheel to me and selling it and the other parts is just a way to defray the costs of further investments in my car. I like the Momo wheel I have and the fact that it’s removable makes it a easier to get under the dash and work inside the car. I sold off a lot of my stock take-offs because they were just occupying shelf space and my car will never be returned to a stocker as long as I own it. Nothing against anyone that desires stockers but it was just happenstance that it was a US GTS. It appeared in my local newspaper the day I was venturing out on a several hour drive to Southern Wisconsin to look at a couple cars George Stauffer had. It was literally right on the way. It was a low mile car living less than an hour from me the whole time I was traipsing about the country looking at cars while on business travel. It was by far the best car I had seen and the price was great. I knew what I wanted to do with the (my) Pantera from day one but didn’t go looking for a GTS to start with.

If you needed a US GTS wheel and there were only 150 of them, I suspect so. It was in perfect shape and I believe he was very happy with it.
