my aluminum valve cove does have a little crack. By looking for 2 new cover I found the Ansen cover in the web. Does have anybody experiences if these are ok ? long time stable / leak free ? any other recommendations ?

I am looking at Ansen as well but for 350 Chevy I have in my El Camino. They do look nice. No first hand experience as of this time but I was referred to them from somebody putting them on a Cleveland.
Uli, why not find a local TIG welder and fix what you already have? Most cast covers weld beautifully. I once took a pair of 327 Chev alloy covers and fitted them to a 215 Buick.

I thought about that option. The Pantera is in the Manthey Racing garage for the 5th. gear modification. They are able to weld AL. But the cover are now 50 years old and I assume the material did get stress over the years many times and the next possible crack is waiting for me. Since I have the complete engine rebuilt with Aluminum cylinder heads, single injection stack by AL, I decide and ordered polished AL cover made by Ansen.
