Hi,

I am in the process of reassembling the stock heads of the Cleveland engine. I noticed that there are no oil deflector baffles on the rocker arms and no valve spring seats. Both of these parts are listed in the Master Parts Catalog. Are they necessary? I have found a source for the baffles but can't seem to find the seats.

I bought positive valve stem seals from Ford Performance and had the valve guide bosses maschined appropriately.  Are the black seals for the intake valves and the blue ones for the exhaust?

Also, one of the pushrods is really damaged so i'm looking for new ones. Is there a manufacturer that makes a quality set that somebody can recommend?

I appreciate any help,

THX Carlo

Intake blue

exhaust black

There are no deflectors on the stock valve covers

Iron heads do not have valve springs seats

DO NOT REUSE THE STOCK FORD VALVES!

The head and stem are friction welded and are known to fail with very expensive results. Buy one piece stainless steel valves

For what it sounds like you are building pushrods are pushrods.

Good luck

Larry
