Valve spring selection

The cam maker will have a recommended spring for the cam you have. Just use them or a spring with similar rating.

Make sure you use a retainer to suit your springs.

Spring height needs to be checked also. When you put them on the new heads.

I'm far from an expert but logically I would think that the springs would work just fine.

When a cam manufacturer specs springs, he doesn't ask what type of heads you'll be mounting them in - he specs spring characteristics. Or said a different way, the springs are matched to the cam, not the heads, so I would think you'd be ok.

That being said, if the springs are old you may want to take advantage of the swap and install new springs. I've been stranded before by breaking valve springs...
