Hello again Rudy! If it is vapor lock, it will stall when running too. Panteras with original type starters are prone to cook them due to tight clearance with the headers. A new high-torque mini starter allows more air to circulate and keep it cooler, as well as provide more cranking power. Once again, not a cheap fix...about $340. Good Luck Bob R. Tipo874@aol.com
Try a phenolic carb spacer,if your machine doesn't have one. They come in various thicknesses and insulate the carb from the effects of heat-soak. Shutting down a hot engine actually increases the block temperature, since you don't have air going by the carb or water going to the rad. So fuel in the float-bowls starts boiling, which thoroughly floods the engine. If you're a poor boy, a home-made one of WOOD works just fine- 1/4" thick is about right. Note-this is more important than air cleaner clearance, if a spacer makes the engine too tall. Change everything else but keep the spacer!
