I found some gauges a little while ago at a swap meet I was hoping they would have the same ring on them as our stock ones but no luck. Can anyone shed some light on what they are from or if they are of much value? I am still debating about using the battery condition one in place of my stock burnt up amp gauge.

Some rings similar to those are very easy to change as they have only a few (three?) tabs on the back to secure them to the gauge housing.

Most Pantera gauges, however, are fully crimped all around and are a HUGE pain to remove the rings from without damaging the rings. I speak of the '71 gauges that I have done. Maybe the later ones are different, but I don't think so.

Note that those rings lack the detail the Pantera gauges have — although they are similar in shape to the all-black Mangusta gauge trim rings.

With the lack of detail I quess you mean the different shape? Yes, the shape is different. The new ones, I have, are propably easy to put on. I think they are that "3 tabs" -version. Haven´t done that really yet, so I can´t really say, how easy or hard it will actually be. They come from a bigger set of new rings for some Fiat. The bigger rings (rpm and speedo) are too small for Pantera but the small ones are the right size.
Believe Mark when he says the bezel-rings are a huge pain to R & R successfully. Plus, the OEM bezels are plated brass so they work-harden when bent. The original crimp plus maybe two more bends (1 off and 1 on again) are about all you can get before they crack at the bends, ruining that bezel ring.

A very small flat-blade screwdriver is my tool of choice for this. Also note- you only need to unbend about 60% of the crimp around 60% or the periphery to work the bezel off the case. But an occasional ring will still crack when being recrimped.
