This Pantera question maybe best answered by some of our senior members here.  Is there any physical difference between a vintage 82T-1701 SP1 KONI shock (front) and a vintage 82T-1702 SP1 KONI shock (rear) besides maybe the adjustable valving.  They physically look alike.  I know there were different spring rates between front and rears?  I have a nice vintage pair  of 82T-1701's and am looking for a vintage good used pair of 82T-1702s

Pete, Are you sure about those part numbers? My '72 Pantera L came with red painted single-adjustable #82-1701-SP front shocks and 82-1601-SP rear shocks, back in 1980. To differentiate the fronts & rears, the rears had heavier springs in back, and the bump-rubbers in the rear had a longer taper on the end. The front bump rubbers were more flat. Can't check 'cause I sold them a decade or two ago.
