Are Mariah the original fans? if so mine do work they are off of a 1972 #4416. I will dig them out of storage and clean them up. Is 25 each + shipping good? I will take some pics over the weekend, if you are interested you can contact me at charles.buthala@trw.com

If I'm not mistaken the Mariah Fans had 6 or 8 blades, while the stock factory had only 4.

The original fan motors are Lucas, not Meriah. Meriah's were a popular upgrade before the pancake sucker fans became popular. They're supposed to draw the same current as the original fan motors, but move a lot more air, although that may be a function of the blades instead of the motor.

I rebuilt my stock fans following these directions, and they work great. But, I have Ford Cortina blades mounted to the stock motor. I actually need to change to a hotter thermostat because it's difficult to keep my car above 160, although I'm going to add an aftermarket temp guage first to verify the questionable Veglia guage readings.

Pic of Stock Fan Motor with Ford Cortina Blades. Hall Pantera added these as an upgrade to my car in the early 80's. I've also been told that these are the EXACT same blades that DeTomaso used on the later Panteras (GT-5S?) but I don't recall which model specifically.

The rebuilt stock fans work great!

One more option to condsider for upgraded cooling fans in the stock configuration would be CoolCat fans. These are popular with the Jaguar crowd looking to upgrade from the stock Lucas fan motors.

Meriah fans motors are longer than stock. I haven't checked the measutements on the CoolCats, but they look to be about the same size as the stock Lucas fan motors.

The Ford Cortina fan swap option sounds like a cheap solution. Does anyone know which model year Cortina has the same fans fitting as the Pantera?

I have a couple of fans with Cortina blades. I am not going to use them as I have gone to the laydown configuration. I can check to see if they work and I would part with them.

My fan motors are fine . I would like to replace the fans with something that might move more air. Will these Cortina blades fit on the original motors ? And where can you buy them ?
