There is a drain in the rearward corner of the door that is a problem of clogging up.

It probably causes most of the rust damage in that area of the door.

Make sure when you repair or replace that it remains open and unclogged.

It is too small by design. It will cause the skin to rot right out in that spot even if you don't drive the car in the rain.

The water from washing the car will do as much damage as anything.
Sam, glad to hear you are back at the car. Both doors on my Pantera had rust in the corners of the doors. I ordered new skins but ended up replacing the corners instead. The skins took a long time to arrive. One side was a pretty good fit but the other side was a 1/4" bigger than the original. Also the lip is not bent over like a door skin for a us car.
