Wanted Sorted Driver or better

What model or price range, I know of a GT5S for sale but its not cheap, $225,000.  Not mine, its a 1985 GT5S (black)

Condition

The 1985 is a solid 8 out of 10.  It has a different motor in the car with more HP with the original motor in the crate that the second engine came with.  This car is all there and very nice.  I have thought about buying it but don't really need two.  It is located in Missouri

In Europe GT5-S are into the $165-195k price range.

I guess I didn’t mention, the black car is one of three Shelby Pantera’s!   195k for a nice GT5S example seems very cheap.   Only one of 186 if I’m not mistaken.

I've contemplated selling mine. '71, 53K miles, well sorted. Just down I40 from you.

Simon,  I appreciate your information but again, this black Shelby GT5S is not my car.  I understand basic values of cars but until one sees a car priced at $225k or $125K one does not know the value based on condition or history.  I certainly don't want to act as an expert because I am not.  I do know that supposedly there were 3 Shelby cars and this is one of them.  A red Shelby car brough $230k ayt auction a few months back and did not sell.  Might be where two fools met but I honestly have no idea.  My car is maybe the most original GT5S (other than new paint) and I dont think I would ever take less than $200k for it.  With that said, I may never sell it if not willing to take less.  The black car you have found may be the deal of the century.  I honeslty do not know where these cars are and where they are headed for value in the future.............................

Hi Mike,

With a Euro vs USD rating from 1: 1  the European car market is for US people interested .

I know recently Speed8Classics sells a few special cars to the USA.

All good Simon, I know in these cars or any "collector" car there are so many variables as to what a value is.  It varies from buyer to buyer.  I bought my 5S because of the originality which in some cases hurt the car because it is not as good of a driver as a car with fuel injection or other mods................lol   Have no idea if that made sense.  Happy motoring and enjoy the hobby.
