Does the Pantera have a special water temp sending unit? The gauge was not working, so a new sending unit was put in which worked a little(the needle would move but not a lot). Now it is not moving at all. I am not sure if the gauge is good now, but was working recently.

...Make sure the Sender is mounted to the Block, under the Right Side Head. (The Engines' Right Side)
Use NO Teflon Tape. Check for Good Grounds, all around.

Make sure the ground strap at the rear of the ZF transmission is directly attached to clean metal at both the transmission and chassis. If the transmission back plate was painted then your not getting a good ground. I installed a second ground from the engine block to the chassis as well and this resolved my temp gauge issues.

I personally would run an independent 0/1 gauge negative wire all the way back direct from battery and ground it on the block if your using electronic ignition. Random temp sensors won’t work with the gauges. Jon Haas has the correct one you need 👍🏽
An easy way to get a good ground is to clamp the ground wire to the sender body with an appropriate sized hose clamp, then run to a good grounding point of your choosing.

Did you check just putting the send wire onto ground and see if the temperature gauge is moving?
Just to make sure everything from the connector forward is OK!
That would be my first step…
If nothing happens…see if you have + at the gauge…
and everything is done with ignition on!!
My friend put another sending unit in it and that fixed the problem.
