PORSCHE OWNERS CLUB DRIVING SCHOOL

On September 10 and 11 the Porsche Owners Club will be holding their next driving school and Short Track Series event at The Streets of Willow track in Rosamond, CA.

Cost is only $180.00 for both days plus attendees will be required to join POC at $75.00 for the year.

This school is great for Pantera owners. Porsches have similar handling characteristics to our Panteras – you won’t learn trail braking here – and this is a very friendly and outgoing group of folks who really enjoy having our cars out there with them.

The Streets track is twisty and pretty short and Pantera drivers will spend a lot of time rowing back and forth between second and third gears. They’ll be running counter-clockwise using the Bowl turn in back and that configuration is an absolute riot.

Students of all levels are encouraged to rent transponders and join the time trial event Sunday afternoon for a chance to whoop up on a few of them shiny new 996 Turbos.

Application information will be available shortly on http://www.porscheclub.com/.

The POC is a pretty conservative group with tough tech inspectors that I think really fits well with our attitudes about our cars and our safety.

I’ve been to their school and consider it to be one of the very best BYO-Car opportunities out there. I’d be happy to answer any questions or try to refer you to someone who can.

check out http://www.performancedrivingexperience.com. They have well run, safe events at tracks around Chicago. They're a nice bunch of people too who will take care of newbies. They're running at Blackhawk Farms on August 18th. Also try http://www.caroc.com. October 8th and 9th they're holding an event at Road America with the Corvette Club. This another nice group of guys.
