Okay, I give up. On the stock wheels, how do you remove that retainer ring without chewing up the center and wheel.

It may be a little fused to the wheel from corrosion.
I have a dental pick in my tool box to hook things like that.
With it you would just need to find the end of the c clip and hook it, then pull it out.

dental pic is the best and easiest way. spray alittle WD40 to help loosen the ring. Ive done 1000 of these and this method is the best.even if you do scratch them I have several new ones and they are not expensive. hope this helps, mike
