Wheel spacers for Mustang COBRA rims FR500

With 18" rear rims, you might not need any spacer. My rear rims were 17" and had a little contact. A 18" rim might clear without a spacer. The spacer was 7/32, longer studs were not required. I still had the proper lug nut engagement (more then 3/8 thd engagement) with the stock studs.

Thanks Rover. did you have to bang/dent/crush the windshield drain tube for front tire clearance? My fenders are already rolled. Was there a big improvement in handling one you went to the bigger rims tires from stockers?

yes, the drain tube needs a little re-engineering. Nothing serious, some select hammer blows and you should be good.

I cannot say much about handling changes. I put the rims on as part of a massive restoration of the car. There were a lot of suspension changes make tires and rims where part of the project. I do not have before and after data points.

They look better, get more rubber to the road. You might feel more road harshness due to less compliant sidewalls. A price to pay for higher perfomance in the tires.
