Well I have solved the problem of replacing the rubber inserts for the original wiper blades.
For about twenty dollars buy a set of Pilot Automotive Dual Wiper Blades, 18". Remove the end caps on you original wipers, Pull the rubber inserts out of thier slot and slide them into your original wiper blades cut to size and replace the end caps on the originals and you are all set. Each new double blade set costs around ten dollars buy two as you never know when these will be discontinued also.

I recently did the same to mine. While 16" blades are slightly longer than the original Pantera blades, there is a tab that is bent down into the rubber blade that is nearly impossible to unbend. The rubber will usually tear at this point when trying to remove it from the blade holder. The 18" blade solves the problem, as the tab leaves more than 16" of "undisturbed" blade. The brand that I used was Pylon. These were replacement blades for one my newer vehicles. I suspect that the cross section of the blade is the same for most brands.
