How do I test my window motors? They are out of the car and hasn't run for 20+ years. Thought I would test them before I put them back in.

The shafts seem to run pretty tight - I can barely turn them with my fingers. I have another NOS motor and it spins much more freely.

Can I simply connect the motors to a 12V battery ? and how do I do that - which wire-terminal is ground and which is plus ??

Yes you can hook the motor direct to a battery. There are 2 wires and just changing the polarity will make the motor change direction. Mine ran very slow and one of the first mods I made to 1362 was this window motor conversion. That was 6 years ago, and they have been great. Lighter too. This is a great, easy to do mod.
