Windshields in Europe

i spoke with them today, they produce only windshield. Just to order one :-)

Does this mean they can supply Pantera windscreens now? Or they can supply anything if they have a pattern? Will they ship to the UK also as only supplier I found is around 900 euros.

I think Jocke means they did not want to do the other windows besides windshield, even if we provided the windows for pattern making. Windscreen they can make already today.

Called them. They have Pantera windshield in stock. The ones in stock are slightly greenish glass with dark blue shading in the upper portion of the glass. They can be had without that tint as well. The price is 260e + wooden shipment crate 80e. Shipment would then come on top of that.

These fellas do not speak English, so I'd need to help with communication etc.

They will also custom make glasses that can be Laminated, if customer provides model glasses for pattern making. This means they only make glasses that are solidly supported all around, like windshield and rear glass.
Door glasses need to be hardened to last, and they can't make them unless what you need is straight glass like in many fifties-early sixties cars. Laminated curved glass in doors would break in use almost immediately if you close the door with window halfway down.

EDIT: Maybe you can PM your address, so I can check shipping with them. The crate will make it possible.

The rear glass is flat & not tempered so your glass company ought to be able to do those, and the front & rear quarter windows are easily and cheaply made of Lexan or other polymer at home. Larry Stock has reproduced the big rear window of Lexan as well. Lexan or poly can also be tinted at home to match tinted windshields.

Wonder what company made these Pantera side windows...? Took the picture at Spa Italia year ago.

That side window is propably more than ten years old, done during the earlier worker. But because they have made it once, they will propably be able to make it again. Rough estimation for the price per side window was 150 euros. That is just the estimation. They will need examples (or exact measurements) to start with. I don´t have my side windows here right now, but I think, they are curved only to one direction? Because that´s what they can make, not the versions, which are curved to two directions.

He was not able to answer the shipment questions immediately. That can always be arranged, of course. And my side windows are already out of the doors, if needed for models.

Heated windshields are available at 400e as well. Perfect for a race car to get rid of heater. At least FIA historic rules require a system to remove fog.

Longchamp and Mangusta windshields are also available from the same company.

In Finland they are. You can get them as options to many new cars these days.

An update:

The price for regular glass is 260e + wooden shipment crate 80e. Shipment would then come on top of that.
Available greenish (typical Pantera), clear (have heard some early cars would have), also available with green or blue darkening at the top of the glass (no price incremental).

They have a heated glass with visible resistor wire at 400e. Typically used in race cars.

They can also offer heated glass with "invisible wire", but that requires ordering 4 similar windshields at the same time. The price would be 500-530e each, and needs to be verified at order time, as they outsource part of this.
