jlb351 - Latches are a tough one...I have a THEORY only. Theory is: the actual latch mechanism comes from some 50s/60s Alfa (see photo, my notes say "Alfa Barchetta door latch", I think these parts were advertised on the internet a few years ago, might still be available). DeTomaso took the basic latch and added the rectangular steel plate on top (see other photos) and made all the cuts, welds and bends that made that latch fit and work in its intended position - each one is different. Anybody seen the basic latch on on old Alfa, or another car?

about 25 years ago I bought 4 new sets from Hall. The forward latch has the pin pull at 90Deg so the cable can thread through this latch to the rear and the rear has only the straight pull. Otherwise the mechanism is the same for both latches. With some care they can be pulled apart and I would imagine the pin can be turned in a lathe if replacements can not be found.
