That piece used to be available new from Ford, I'm not sure if it still is. The trick was to reference a 1977 - 1982 pick-up truck equipped with either the 351M or 400 V8 at the parts counter. The 351M & 400 use the same timing cover as the 351C.

used covers are usually pitted in back of the impeller . if they rust thru, water enters the crankcase.if eroded around the water port thegasket area is compromised and can leak to the outside. i have sandblasted and welded them up, then powdercoated to prevent further rusting.
FWIW, there are at least three different stock 'Cleveland" front covers. The variance is in the timing mark and how it indexes to the main cover plate. Depending on what you have now, you may need to do a little trimming.
Summit Racing has an intriguing aluminum front cover for Clevelands listed for not-much-money. I built one a few years ago but if I'd seen the ad, I would have saved myself a day's machining!
