WTB: used MSD Distributor and box

It's your money, but you may want to consider something more "contemporary" than the MSD 6AL which by todays standards is "Old School", not to mention they have a high failure rate and are vibration sensative. Take a peek at Jegsat let your mind wonder.

What do you suggest as a replacement? I had a extra but my MSD 6AL recently died just because it got wet!!!

You want my recommendations. Do not mount any spark box in the engine compartment. Heat, humidity and vibration will kill them. It is tight to find room in these cars, but having the box right next the engine's headers will cook the system. Interior of the cab is optimal or the front boot. Just get it away from the heat of the engine. When mounting use rubber isolator (provided with some models) to reduce the vibration.

I have all the parts to convert to a Dura Spark ingnition for my 73 and my 79 has a Hall Dura Spark Conversion. I raced a Motorsport Duraspark it was the most durable system I ever ran. I favor the factory ignition. If you break down you can stop at an Autoparts and pick up the part.

Emery, I am far from an ignition expert, but I do know that the MSD 5 and 6 series boxes are based on outdated 80's technology. I would investigate this Pertronixunit with a built in rev limiter and external tunability.........and it looks kinda nice :-)

Tell your buddy we met a guy here in Maui that has a red "numbered" Countach with 1100 miles on it!! Yes 1100 miles. He's gonna go out with us next time.

Emery, ask what his serial# is and if he is on any of the lambo boards. Greg may have some interest in the details of this car since he is spear heading a revamp of the Countach registry.
