does anyone know a qualified shop in the ny area that can service the z-f ??? trying to save the expense of crating and shipping to west coast., i bought a project car that sat for a couple years, ( not running)....shifted through gears fine, no leaks, i drained gear oil and it looked very clean , (no metal in oil). are there any other tell tale signs i should look for????? i just pulled trans out and trying to determine next step! i might be worried over nothing ....but better safe than sorry !! previous owner was unaware of condition of trans ,he also bought car not running, and did nothing with this project before i purchased it.....it took a little coaxing to get him to part with this car, its a complete 74 gt-5 clone, and i'm in the process of a full restoration,.........any advice on the z-f is greatly appreciated..........thanx in advance............dave #6343

Not in NY, but close. Not sure if he services ZFs, but may be worth a call.

1Q72,

I've lived in the NYC area all my life, and have owned two Panteras over 8 years here. I've been part of Pantera clubs like PI and POCA for about 13 years. I haven't heard of anyone in our area who services ZF's. Everyone ships them to Pantera specialists, usually on the west coast.

Pat Mical (at the above link) in Mass. specializes in Panteras, and he may do ZF's or he may send them out. Definitely contact him to find out more.

I would also contact Team Pantera of Long Island. Mark Basile (516-433-4990) is the president, he may know someone.

Jersey Panteras may also be able to help: http://www.jerseypanteras.com/pages/1/index.htm

I'm sure between these leads, you'll find someone. If you do, please post your findings here so that others may benefit from a local ZF rebuilder.

Michael
