Kristian,

There were 2 manufacturers of angle drives VDO and Borletti and both available in mph and kph version (a 1:1 ratio or 1.1:1) I know many might say that doesn't make senses as the ratio of mph to kph is 1.609, but they also used different ratios in the speedo's for each. I think they use different cable ends as well.

I believe you should be able to simply keep your existing setup of angle drive to speedo and bolt onto the -2 if the drive mates properly.

Yes. The car has the VDO speedo angle drive with the euro 1.1:1 ratio which mates to the KPM speedometer.

The angledrive fits the driveshaft of both the -1 and -2. So, presuming that the gearing of the drive shaft in the -2 transaxle is the same as in the -1, I should be OK. That way I also do not need to replace my speedo-cable.

thanks
I did the same swap I'm 1362. The clutch disc on dash 1 is 1. 1/8 inch, and larger then the dash 2,the input shaft in a dash 2 is smaller. The mount for the slave is different too. I had to raise my grunion because the little box on the side of the zf dash 1 shift shaft is lower than the dash2. Your question, there are 2 different gear reduction speedo drives and mine is way off.
