I recently (OK, a month ago) ordered a drain plug tool which I am still waiting for. In the mean time, I have found an alternative that works like a charm for under $10 and is as close as your nearest Home Depot!

In the plumbing section there is a tool made by Brass Craft (Model T143) that is called an "internal Pipe Wrench" for removing 1/2 inch pipe nipples. The main shaft of the tool fits perfectly in the ZF plug and can be used with a regular open-ended wrench, or cut off and used with a socket.

I wasn't going to dignify the reply to my original post because there was nothing to be gained by anyone. For the record, Chuck was extremely responsive and did replace the missing tool at his expense on my word that I hadn't received it. A very honorable act by a guy who has a great reputation and has done lots for the Pantera community. Thanks again Chuck! Smiler
Sorry to say, but I had a similar experience with Chuck before, after I finally got my bank statement and verified me check was negotiated, I contacted Chuck by e-mail. He said he sent it and said that he'd send it again, to relace the shipment. He did send it again. I got my order a month and a half to two month's after I ordered it from Chuck.

So, I've never had this happen before and from that point on I had all shipments made to my office. No problems with the UPS, etc. dropping stuff off and someone pilfering it before I got home, only I had to change my bank account ship to and bill to address, and suffer thru some other 'unable to ship' issues with other vendors. This caused me more problems and I and others had to take time to resolve it.

So, now I wanted to inquire from Chuck about getting Racing Numbers from his Cars and Parts For Sale Topic. No response from him yet by e-mail. 6 e-mails to him since 3/5/05 and I've seen him on this BB, so he's right there, at his computer with his e-mail right there, during this entire time. I complained about it today and told him to forget it, and showed everybody where to order the Racing Numbers and Magnetic Roundels themselves. Like Mark did with the ZF tool.

So, maybe Larry is right calling the 'unknown offender' what he called him. And I'm with you Mark, thanks for posting where to get a ZF drain tool, although I already have one. Be forewarned! It's happened before, and I refuse to deal with Chuck anymore, especially after hearing these corroborating stories. You'll probably get your ZF tool at some time, like when Chuck's got 10 orders in his hand and can get a better price and then make a little money or something.... $10 to $25
