I'm going to make the jump into ZF repair and tweaking. Since I have rebuilt a couple dozen manual transmissions and have set up a couple dozen differentials I don't think there will be many surprises. Pinion depths, pre-loads, end-play and a real good eye for machined surface defects are fairly universal.

First off I'll be looking for a customer who needs their ZF rebuilt and is willing to allow me the time it takes to build the tools needed to rebuild and set up their transmission. Labor rate considerations for helping me develop the tools.
