My rear ZF mount broke and I'm trying to replace it with the P.I.M. sidemount kit. The kit didn't come with instructions but I figured how difficult can this be to figure out. Well, I should have known that first, usually nothing on this car comes easy. Secondly, no instructions usually means a death blow to my projects. In any case, I cannot the the mounts to line up no matter which way I position them. I have tried what I think is every possible position for them.

The only way that I haven't tried is to remove the sway bar studs and put the frame mount inside the frame and push the studs through it. The problem with this is that the frame opening is too small for the mount to be positioned in it without some serious pounding or other forceful method which is why I haven't tried it yet. Does anyone have pictures of this mount installed for a reference? Maybe there is a way that I've overlooked.

Bill,

Thanks again for taking the time to send me your pictures. From the looks of your latest picture, you appear to have drilled a second hole on the frame mount. I have the problem with the frame and the trans mounts being off about 1". If I were to drill a second hole, I would be able to line it up. Did you drill the second hole as it appears in your picture? I talked to Jerry at P.I and he says it may be necessary as all cars were a bit different.
Dennis I have the same kit as Bill and mine would not line up. I ended up drilling some new holes in the brackets that mount to the sway bar studs. One bracket sets lower by about one inch on the driver side, sided to side was off a little too. This is temporary fix on 1306 till I make a better brackets
Jerry said that the kit fits about 90% of the cars but alas, all are different and mine is in the 10%. No big deal thought, just like you, I need to just drill another hole which is off about an inch. I was just trying to make sure before I "butchered" the bracket. I would have hated finding out that I just had to turn the bracket over.
