Aftermarket Clutch Master Cylinder Line Fitting

I think the stock fittings are 37 degree double flare.

As usual a simple project doesn't stop with a simple change. This MC is smaller bore than your OEM MC, thus for same depression of pedal you pump less fluid volume and thus get less throw on your slave, which may or may not affect your clutch disengagement and cause drag. You may need to switch to an equally smaller bore long throw slave cylinder to get a matched set.

This does look like the commonly used CNC unit.

It comes in both 5/8" and 3/4" bore sizes; maybe others, too?

Bore size should be imprinted at bottom of fluid reservoir.

hmm I took a look, but can't find the bore size imprinted, will take off the boot and see if i can just measure the bore.

Hey dude, I have the same polished master, showing 3/4 as you look into the slave (See link below). You see nothing printed inside like shown? This works great with a long through slave...although I had my own sepreate issues with the slave for a while.

ok my bad, it does say 3/4. So basically I need to go get a long throw slave? Btw did you find a fitting that worked with the stock line, or did you change out the fitting on the end of the line?

I don't know if you "have to" go with a long slave or not. I changed slave out because the aluminum one was beginning to fail. So I went with the long slave, since most seem to recommend it. The stainless steel line and master came with the car, so I didn't have to change anything out.

...What I had to do to install this unit, was to cut off the original 'euro' fitting at the end of the Hydraulic Line; then slip on the 'Imperial' fitting that came with the Master Cylinder (Hall Pantera), then reach into the close quarters with a 'Double Flare Tool', and put a Double Flare on the Tubing End. Job Done!...

Sorry to hash this up again, great answers to the change out, but I'm still not sure what kind of fitting I'm looking for. I don't have a flaring tool, so I'd rather just find the adaptable fitting, seen on various cars, including the one below.



Joules: do you know what size the female 37 degree flared fitting is from the clutch line? maybe 1/4"?

DOES 200: do you have the documentation from the unit which says how big the female opening is on the end of the unit?

This is the information I need to contact some fitting suppliers about some kind of T fitting like shown in the photo.

A web search for the CNC master shows that it has an 1/8" pipe thread.

The pic of the red car looks like a tee was used in the master and an adapter was added for the clutch line. A 90* street elbow would have been smaller and cleaner. The clutch line is 1/4" (-4).
