1971 Detomaso Pantera
For sale is an early Pantera with small bumpers and a smooth rear deck lid. 1971 Panteras came with 330 hp while 72 - 74 "L" cars were down to 248 hp to meet smog rules. This Pantera is the original color and has a stock body and interior. It has been completely restored, is in excellent condition, and drives better than new. The finish in the engine bay is among the best of the Panteras. The engine has been rebuilt and includes several performance upgrades that are common to many Panteras resulting in an estimated 375 horsepower. The car consistently starts on the first turn, cold or hot. The shifter and linkage have been rebuilt and upgraded making shifting the ZF transaxle a breeze. The brakes have been rebuilt and include a new master cylinder and booster, stainless hoses, new pads, and powder coat paint on the calipers. The suspension has all new bushings and ball joints, a new steering rack, new wheel bearings on all four corners, and powder coat paint. It has a precision wheel alignment and road force tire balance. The car handles well in both curves and straight lines, and drives like new. The air conditioner has been modernized and outputs 37 degrees at the vents. The interior has been completely resurfaced and has leather on the dash, console, doors, and seats. There was extensive use of sound deadener and insulation resulting in a cool and relatively quiet passenger compartment. I purchased the car in 2007 and have owned it 10 years. The original owner was in Santa Maria, CA. There was one other owner in Santa Barbara, CA for a short time between me and the original owner. It has clear California title, current registration, and original steel California license plates with 6 digits. I have a new Pantera project underway and thus this completed car is for sale.

Price: Sold on consignment at Beverly Hills Car Club 6/1/2017

Hi Mark,

The VIN stamped into the car body above the pedal cluster is in place on the car. It is hard to see on the eBay picture because it is partly blocked by the hood release cable. It is not a plate, just stamped numbers, letters, and a couple of star characters. On my car the VIN was simply masked over when the car was painted. A closeup picture of it is below.

Thanks, Steve

Steve Hi Happy New!
there is a decent hype in Germany/Europe on Panteras as the local magazins did put "him" on first pages.
so prices are up at least in 2016.
You can take a look as Mark pointed out
www.autoscoute24.de...German but easy to navigate to De Tomaso
or the better site is
www.mobile.de
there are several but VERY pricy...and lots of fake...
Matthias
if you want to get details on German market get me a PM..
