It is definitly the last built original Pantera.
We have seen this car in the assembling hangar during the factory meeting in Sept. 1990, where they presented the new Si.
This car wears a special metal plate on the dashboard, which you can see in one of the pictures.
After the meeting this car was sold to Austria and a few years later to Germany.

That would be awesome if you could bring this car to the USA.

Good Luck.
For what it's worth, my understanding of the US importation laws is that if an American version of a car was brought in originally, it precludes bringing a non-American spec car in later. For example, take the Ferrari F40. You would not be able to import a European spec F40 into the US as Ferrari originally built a US-spec version. How this affects the Pantera is not quite as straightforward though as there were a variety of grey imports throughout the 1980's. Basically, it could be done, but you'll need deep pockets and lots of patience with the endless banal bureaucracy of the EPA and DOT.

Best,

I don't collect, i drive them as they wher build for.

Interesting info on late model cars...

This one though would be neat to own bec of its low mileage. A collector's item.

Here is a photo of 1990 GT5-S #9562 from Germany. It differs from the one in the E-Bay ad by virtue of having a wing, aftermarket wheels, painted outside rearview mirrors mounted in a different location, etc., so it is not likely to be the same car. Apparently, yellow GT5-S Panteras were popular in Germany in 1990!

Some additional info re USA importing. A few PI Newsletters back there was an article & photos of a yank who fly in here ( South Africa ) to buy a nice black (?) GT5 from a fellow on the East Coast (Port Elizabeth in fact). All went very well and the buyer had a great time here going on a couple of quick Big Game Safaries etc while the car was being prepped for him....I ll try and find out details to post on how it all went down.....
I know there are a lot of cars being shipped out of South africa to all around the world especially since there is virtually no rust problems here to speak of. Jag freaks from UK come here and just buy body-shells. Someone in Moscow just bought a pal of mines Jag XKE Roadster for big money. Also the nice little Noble which are built here in SA are shipped out all the time. Cobra Daytona Coupe replica's sold as Superformance Coupe's from the same company....and a sheeet-load of very nice GT40's (..one of which i owned for 6 years )which have mostly gone to the states. In fact 3x of them were, or still are on the PI Cars for Sale Section....the one went for, or they were asking $129 000. The other $119 000. I think they were shipped out to the US with out motors and then put up for sale there as 2nd.hand ?? I'll make some inquiries.
Cheers from the DeepSouth...

A big hello to all DT fans ! I acually have a quick question for tai krige which isn't related to this topic. Sorry in advance for busting this thread.
Tai, do you know of a 81 Pantera GTS # 7218 still being around in South Africa.
According to the list of the Dutch DT importer it was shipped sometime during the 80's to South Africa. It was used in a Dutch car magazine back in 1984. The colours were silver over black with a Maserati style Marrone interior.
Just currious to know if it is still around.

Greetings from,

Dutchie
